Reporting to the VP Human Resources, this position performs a key role, working closely with the business units to align the business objectives and the people needs and is instrumental in driving the culture, values, and employee engagement. This position serves as a trusted business partner on human resource-related issues but also serves as an employee champion.
Manages employee relations issues; Resolves complex employee concerns by researching and conducting timely, thorough and objective investigations while minimizing legal exposure.
Fosters communication among employees and management by providing guidance and consultation regarding problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, litigation avoidance, and strives to resolve internal conflict informally through appropriate management and mediation techniques.
Partners with and guides managers on how to manage performance and employee development.
Conducts exit and stay interviews and analyzes data to identify trends and make recommendations to improve engagement, efficiencies, morale, and increase employee retention.
Creates reports and analysis that convey status of current employee relations issues, identifying trends, seeking out benchmarks, and developing action plans to effectively address issues where appropriate
Meets regularly with key business unit heads and department managers to establish close and trusting relationships.
Acts as a trusted confidante who provides feedback and insight to help create a positive engaging culture and environment.
Provides day-to-day HR administrative support and document process administration
Support Talent Management and Recruiting as needed.
EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION
A minimum of 5 years’ recent direct experience in an Employee Relations role is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred. Experience in Banking a plus.
This position requires an in-depth knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and risk and regulatory sensibility. Proven relationship-building skills with employees at all levels within the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of personal and sensitive information. Maintain ability to work in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines. Strong organizational and attention to detail skills. May be required to travel to support the initiatives of a growing bank.
Proficient computer skills with an excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel. Experience with a variety of HRIS systems is a plus.
