As an Assistant Branch Manager at HarborOne you will work hand-in-hand with your Branch Officer to ensure the proper servicing of all customers while overseeing Customer Service Associates and daily operations at the branch.
Assistant Branch Managers start between $27 and $35 per hour commensurate with experience.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Service and open new accounts and loans. Solve customer problems and/or answer customer questions.
Provides and directs subordinates in the consistent delivery of service excellence and sales activities. Oversees follow-up and customer onboarding activities.
SALES: Utilize every opportunity to match customer needs to HarborOne products. Offer customer product information to guide them in financial decisions. Develop and monitor selling skills of subordinates; meet sales goals and work with manager on achieving and setting branch goals.
LOAN and MORTGAGE SERVICING: Interview customers and advise them of our loan products. Approve loans within HarborOne Bank guidelines and authority. Complete appropriate paperwork to disburse loans' advise customer of approval or denial of loan. Maintain a complete understanding of mortgage and loan products. Assist customers in the completion of mortgage and loan applications making recommendations of most appropriate product that meets their needs.
Work closely with the Bank at Work and the Business Services Officers to develop relationships with existing business payroll companies as well as Small Business. Responsible for outside calling and development to increase deposits, loans management services.
SUPERVISING/DAILY OPERATION: Ongoing development of employees. Oversee the daily branch operation ensuring that all policies/procedures are followed. Responsible for delegating or performing daily work in the teller and customer service area. Reconcile monthly inventory of negotiable instruments sold and on hand.
Ensure all product literature is up to date and perform regular quality checks to ensure appropriate material is posted and available.
SECURITY: Follow proper security procedures for opening and closing of the branch within allocated time frame to ensure safety and security. Training and enforcing all branch security procedures. Respond to afterhours alarm.
COMPLIANCE: Maintain an excellent understanding of all applicable regulations and laws relating to day to day duties including but not limited to; Bank Security Act, Privacy, Fair Lending Regulation E, Regulation CC, and TISA. Maintain an up to date understanding of Bank policies and procedures as they relate to compliance.
Expected to be up to date on all requirements for annual testing requirements. Must be knowledgeable and able to effectively apply this knowledge for day to day activities and responsibilities.
Complete appropriate annual compliance training and ensure staff complete all relevant compliance training and have an understanding of procedures related to their position.
Monitor employees understanding and consistency in use of quality service standards.
Responsible for a positive, productive work environment and employee morale.
Maintain a complete understanding of the Bank's savings and loan products, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Create an annual business plan and community relations consistent with HarborOne goals and objectives.
Maintain an understanding of HarborOne's mission/objectives and communicate them to staff. Handle all activities within the guidelines of confidentiality and professional courtesy.
Each branch has between 5-21 employees.
Directly supervise 2-5 employees in the Customer Service Area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The Assistant Branch Manager is required to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), obtain a unique identifier and annually renew the registration, as defined by the S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years recent related experience as a supervisor or Manager in a retail banking setting. College degree preferred.
Business acumen and professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues across the organization.
Ability to learn technology, products and services offered by the bank.
