Job Description:

Under the direction of the Banking Center Manager, the Small Business Relationship Specialist will embrace the mission of relationship building and profitable growth with a heavy focus on business development. This is a cross-functional team member empowered to create an exceptional customer experience by meeting customer needs and delivering solutions from initial greeting to fulfilment. This position will proactively deepen relationships and attract new small business through new to bank prospecting and acquisition, securing small business deposits, loans, and other banking products (payroll, cash management, merchant, etc.), and achieving production goals.   The Small Business Relationship Specialist works closely with the Small Business BDO team, the Retail Market Manager and Commercial Markert manager to ensure appropriate market coverage and coordination.    This position requires in-depth knowledge of all branch products and services, operational systems, and applications/technologies and well as strong experience in business development, networking and establishing referral sources to generate new business opportunities

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 

Business Development             

  • Proactively source and acquire new business banking customers and understands the complexity and nature of each new relationship
  • Engage in activities that will deepen existing relationships and attract prospects for acquisition of small business deposits, loans, and other banking products (fee income, cash management, merchant, etc.), and achieving production goals.
  • Participate in networking and establishing referral sources to generate new business opportunities
  • In coordination with existing Small Business partners, Participates and leads various events sponsored by business associations, chambers, and networking venues focused on Small Business engagement.
  • Participate in branch functions and community activities to promote organization
  • Grow small business account relationships and lending through consistent activities by interviewing customers and assessing their business and financial needs.
  • Partner with the Commercial /Professionals Team to meet the needs of high valued customers
  • Partnering with small business and commercial bankers on joint calls to clients and prospects, develops subject matter expertise in business deposits and treasury solutions.
  • Transitions larger more complex business opportunities to Small Business BDOs or Commercial RMs as appropriate.

  • Actively participate in all bank-wide sales campaigns and programs

  • Continually exceeds customer service standards and expectations of the branch model including memorable greetings, active lobby management, technology on-boarding, and building loyal relationships
  • Educate and engages customers on additional financial solutions.
  • Promote and drive high customer service standards to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Be the face of HarborOne Bank by presenting a professional, friendly and helpful appearance with every customer interaction

Job Knowledge & Problem Solving

  • Leverage problem solving and strong communication skills to resolve customer issues as quickly and efficiently as possible while focusing on deepening customer relationships
  • Works independently to address and solve customer requests
  • Possesses advanced understanding of financial services, HarborOne products, policies, and procedure and serves as a decision make

Branch Operations

  • Provide support as needed to conduct reconcilement in-Branch with Branch Settlement, Debit Cards, ATM, and Recyclers
  • Process all transactions including basic teller processing as well as new account opening, loan origination and closings, general maintenance and cross-business referrals
  • In the absence of the Banking Center Manager, may be required to take on additional responsibility to actively run the business

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred or commensurate experience
  • 3-5 years of retail banking or retail experience and small business including business development.  
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced sales, retail, hospitality, or banking environment is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills both in-person and over the phone.
  • Ability to tailor features and benefits of solutions to customers with varying financial needs.
  • Possesses outgoing, team ordinated personality with outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and exudes confidence with customers while presenting solutions.
  • Strong ability to educate and connect customers to alternative channels by leveraging technology.

 

Compensation:

$29 - $38 hourly, plus incentives. Offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
